Your favorite pooch will love this!

It's fun, it's tasty. it's a dog birthday cake.

OK, maybe you don't know exactly when your dog was born, but you can pick a convenient date and have a party anyway. And while you're at it, you can invite your friends and have a really great time just enjoying your favorite pets.

Of course the main attraction at you party is going to be a tasty birthday cake, but more about that in a moment. First. lets look at putting together a birthday party for your special dog.

Dog Birthday Cake - Party Theme

You might want to start by choosing a theme for your dog's party. You could have a pirate party, a princess party or a Star Wars party. The sky's the limit.

And once you decide on a theme, you can easily get decorations and party supplies to match you're theme. At the end of this article, I'll give you a link that will help you find just what you're looking for.

Dog Birthday Party - Invitations

Be creative and have fun.

For a pirate party try something like this:

"Aaarrhh! Hoist the Jolly Roger and set sail for (name of your dog)'s Pirate birthday party."

"(name of your dog) wants all of (his or her) ship mates to join (him or her) for a fun birthday adventure and a very special cake aboard the good ship (your last name)."

Now you can put together a pirate treasure map by crumbling up a brown paper bag to make it look old, then drawing a map to your party location on the paper. Remember "X" marks the spot. Tell your party guests that a "treasure chest full of doggie treats and a fun dog birthday cake is waiting for them."

Now include a map with every invitation.

You could also include small bone-shaped doggie treats in every invitation.

And don't forget to include the day, date, location, start and end times for your party. And let them know if this is a costume party for pets and their owners -- and don't forget to mention that doggie gifts will be appreciated. Hey this is going to be a great party.
